The Fountain Athens

The maisonette worked perfectly for the four of us. Everyone on staff was kind, especially Crystal, who checked that we had what we needed. Since we had an early cruise departure, they even packed breakfast for us to take the next day. The hotel is also right in the middle of everything.

We were able to check in early in the morning, which was a big help. Crystal at reception was lovely, full of energy, and gave us useful advice while helping with everything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were great. It’s near Chabbad and close to the center. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The staff made us feel very welcome and gave us a city map with lots of suggestions for places to see. They even moved us to a better room, which we really appreciated, and breakfast was included. Shops and restaurants are all around, and the Acropolis and other main sights are about a 15-minute walk away. We loved staying at The Fountain Athens and would highly recommend it.

The staff were the most hospitable we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. They marked up a map with sightseeing routes, when to watch the changing of the guard, Souvlaki spots, places to avoid at night, and ways to watch out for pickpockets. Since we were leaving early, she also packed a hearty breakfast with apples and juice. Her help made our Athens visit so much more rewarding. Breakfast included omelets and toast made by the chef, and we ate beside an aquarium with axolotls. The hotel is handy for the Athens Central Market, historical sites, and lots of nice restaurants. The neighborhood stays lively at night, but earplugs were provided and we slept well. The elevator is so narrow that people have to ride one at a time and open and close the doors by hand.
