The Residence Aiolou Hotel & Spa

The location is a real plus, close to the city center and convenient for getting around. What made our stay unforgettable, though, was the personal care. I casually mentioned it was my birthday, and they surprised us with balloons and champagne in the room. They also let us stay in the jacuzzi longer than the usual time slot, which was such a generous, thoughtful gesture. From the moment we arrived, the reception team made us feel welcome and looked after. Since our visit was short, their tips on what to see and where to go were especially helpful. They also arranged restaurants, clubs, and a massage for us, and it all went smoothly. I had an amazing stay at The Residence Hotel and can’t recommend it enough. If you’re visiting Athens, this is definitely the best hotel to stay at. The service was truly exceptional, and the experience unforgettable.

I stayed here in January 2026 and everything was just right. The room was cozy and clean, with everything I needed, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. The location is excellent. I could stroll through the old town’s narrow streets toward the city center, or take the nearby metro to other interesting parts of Athens. Highly recommended!

A nice little spa is available to book privately by the hour. The hotel itself is small and has a boutique feel, and our room was lovely and quiet, which made it great for a city break. Breakfast was nice too. During the busy hours, I’d have liked the friendly staff to clear tables sooner and refill the small buffet more often.

We were especially grateful to the front desk team for getting our lost belongings and forgotten passports to us at the airport just in time to catch our flight home. We stayed for three days with our four kids. The staff were very friendly, the rooms clean and modern, and breakfast was good. It’s an excellent base for sightseeing in central Athens. I can only recommend this hotel.
