The staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t stay here again in its current condition. Cleanliness and hygiene were almost nonexistent: the pans and baking trays were scratched, the plates were dirty from previous guests, and towels weren’t changed or rubbish taken out unless we asked. The bathroom was small, and the shower curtain got in the way. Our room was next to others, and at night we heard traffic, neighbors, and a pump like noise every ten seconds. I needed earplugs to sleep. There was barely a window, and no sea view from our room. You have to pay extra for room number 5 or an upper floor to see the sea. It felt like a guesthouse we’d booked through Booking.com. The bay is pebbly and sheltered from wind, with two restaurants out front. Canoes, umbrellas, and sunbeds are free, and it’s about 20 minutes from Vathy center.

We spent two nights here, August 16th to 18th, and I’d stay again if I returned. It’s a peaceful spot in a pretty bay, just ten steps from the sea. The apartment is good for the price, even if it doesn’t have the comfort of a 5-star hotel. We mostly used it to sleep while we were out sightseeing. There are two reasonably priced restaurants on the beach. Hey friend, could you leave your phone number for us to pass on to people coming here?

I wish we could have stayed more than four nights. We felt right at home, and the owners were very friendly. I’d swim as soon as I got up, then we’d sit on the balcony beside the sea in the evening. Watching the sun rise over the Menderes River was really moving. The apartment was extremely clean, with a style that reminded me of the 80s. I really liked the furniture. The air conditioners worked well, as did the stove and water heater. We rented a car and had no trouble getting around. The restaurants in Avlakia are nice, though a little expensive. It was a wonderful holiday for me, my wife, and our child. I hope we come back.

Antonis is always kind, smiling, and ready to help. The apartment is spotless and has all the amenities, with a great balcony view stretching to Kokkari, Vathi, and the Turkish coast. This was my second visit to the island, and I’ve stayed at "ABEAS ANTONIS AVLAKIA" both times. It’s an extremely quiet place.
