TIVOLI

If you're driving and need somewhere to sleep in western Athens, this place works well. It's not a good fit for most tourists who want to see the sights, though. Parking is free and monitored by video, and the staff are very friendly. Hotel Tivoli is a curious experience for a relatively cheap, one-star Athens hotel. The rooms are basic, with no luxury, but they're clean and most things work. My room had huge mirrors around the bed and on the ceiling, apparently suited to some excitement for two lovers. I was alone, and the green lights by the bed caught my attention instead. I don't know if every room is decorated the same way, but if you want that room, ask the helpful staff for room # 25.
