The Penthouse double room had wonderful views across Chania, especially toward the beach, where we could hear the waves. Candia Hotel also made our very late arrival much easier. After missing a connection and ending up 10 hours behind schedule, we called at 1am and one of the owners, Geir, answered. I’m grateful he helped make that night manageable. The location was ideal for getting around: Nea Chora Beach, the promenade, and restaurants were two minutes away on foot. Old Chania and its shops took about 10 minutes to reach, and the city center was around 15 minutes away. There’s also a nearby bus if you want to explore more beaches. Breakfast had a good range of choices, including eggs made to order, and we often ate in the pretty garden. Everyone on staff was genuinely kind and helpful. Maria at reception, and seemingly everywhere else, always greeted us with a smile. Her humor, warmth, and easygoing helpfulness made the stay feel special. We had a lovely visit and would happily return.

We had such a happy stay. The staff were caring and friendly, and the hospitality felt thoroughly Greek. The hotel and rooms were very clean, with daily room cleaning offered. It’s only 50 meters from the beach and lovely restaurants, and the old city is a 10-minute walk away. Highly recommend!

Our flight wasn’t until late afternoon, and the staff kindly kept our luggage and even offered us a private room to shower before leaving. Dimitra at reception was especially helpful, and seeing her warm, friendly smile each day was lovely. The hotel was clean and well cared for, and its location made it easy to walk to the beach, good restaurants, and Old Town.

The breakfast was decent, with something for everyone, and the omelet was great. The rooms were fairly clean and everything worked, as you’d expect from a one-star category hotel. We picked Candia Hotel for its location and were really happy with that choice. The beach is less than two minutes away, the old city about 10 minutes, and everything we needed was just around the corner. The staff were lovely, chatted with us, shared good island tour and destination tips, and did what they could to meet our requests. We’d come back to Chania and stay here again.

We meant to stay one night, but added another so we could enjoy the view and the place a bit longer. From our room, the view was surprisingly spectacular, and the terrace was lovely and roomy. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, too. The hotel is perfectly placed near the old city, harbour, tavernas, and lots of beautiful, clean beaches. Everything was neat and pleasant. Special thanks to Dimitra for being so helpful and friendly. I’d highly recommend the hotel. Cheers.
