Deluxe City Hotel

We only needed a night here after coming back from Sfakia, before our early flight from Chania. It worked well for being close to the city without staying in the old town tourist area, and we could still walk there. The rooms are compact but nicely equipped and very clean. We appreciated the big bathroom in ours, and the little pool was a nice extra.

The hotel is clean and quiet, with friendly staff and rooms that have modern comforts. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the port, so it’s handy for seeing Chania without being amid the tourist crowds. The rooms are well appointed. Nothing especially luxurious, but a good value and a comfortable, convenient city base.

The balcony was a real highlight, with a great view, two sunbeds, two taps, two chairs, and a table. The hotel also has a pool, and the staff were friendly and dependable. They let us into our room around 11:00, earlier than expected, so we could head to the old city for lunch. It was clean, and the towels were washed regularly. Inside, though, the room was very small, with nowhere to put our luggage. The bathroom was especially cramped and hard to move around in. Its nearly transparent sliding door was uncomfortable to use, and at night the light made the whole room bright enough to wake the other person. We often came back from the beach to find there was no hot water in the evening. Still, it’s a good value option for a holiday.

The rooms were clean, with lovely decor, and the hotel is a pleasant little place about a 7-minute walk from the center. The walls are thin, though, so you can hear almost every conversation outside your room. If you get up early or don't mind noise, it's a great place to stay.
