Captain Vasilis Hotel

Constantina at reception made us feel right at home. She arranged dinners and breakfast for us each day, and greeted us with a warm smile whenever we came or went. When we got food poisoning on our last day, she brought us a late breakfast and helped us find nearby pharmacies. Her kindness and genuine care meant a lot. We loved our stay at Captain Vasilis Hotel in Chania Old Town. Our balcony room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with a stunning harbor view. The location was hard to beat, just a few minutes on foot from parking, restaurants, and all the Old Town highlights. The whole team helped make it comfortable and memorable. Highly recommend.

Vasilis was laid back, gave us some good recommendations, and sorted my lost key card quickly. We stayed upstairs in a balcony room in late June and July, and had a lovely time. The views were beautiful, and we were close to everything, yet far enough back that the late-night bars across the harbour were only audible depending on the wind. Parking in town wasn’t as bad as I expected, except when looking for a spot late at night.

The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious with lovely views over the terrace and courtyard. This family-run business is in a converted house with beautiful period features, and the price was very affordable. The location was amazing, with a short walk to everything, including the parking area outside the old town. Communication before our stay was great, and we were met by a friendly face. We were extremely happy with the accommodation.

I spent just one night in the single room and was impressed by how much this little hotel had to offer. It was thoughtfully done, with quality and style, and comforts I might not even have thought of: a tiny krups espresso machine, a very white bathrobe, slippers, and a drying rope in the bathroom. The common areas were tastefully furnished and clean. The owner and staff were polite, professional, and sociable. Cretan hospitality in a word. I had a wonderful stay and recommend it to everyone.
