Eleonora

My friend and I had been looking forward to meeting “Miss Sofia” and trying her breakfasts after reading all the lovely comments. They were right. Her place felt cozy, and although we visited in winter, she kept us warm and made us feel cared for with all her sweet gestures. Staying at Eleonora feels like visiting your grandma. Miss Sofia welcomes you with open arms and makes sure you’re comfortable. If you need something, just ask and it’ll appear. Her food is so tasty and comforting, and the portions are huge. Breakfast for two could feed four. The menu changes each day, and she asks what you’d like the next morning. It’s so good you want to finish everything, even when you’re already full. We joked that after a few days at Eleonora, we wouldn’t fit into our clothes or get through the front door anymore 😂 We feel so lucky to have met Miss Sofia. Her place has a great location, warm service, and wonderful breakfasts, and I’d absolutely recommend it. Miss Sofia, wishing you a long and happy life. We had the three-bed studio for one night, and it worked well. There was a small kitchen and a hairdryer, and the breakfast was very good. The location is excellent, right in the city center and near the seaside. Definitely good value for money.

The room is old, though it was clean, and at first glance it may not impress. What I’ll remember is the hostess. She’s one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve met. We had an early flight the next morning, and she offered to bring us something to eat. At six in the morning she came to our door with a plate of hot treats: toast, croissants, coffee, moustokouloura, orange cake and bougatsa. She promised, and she followed through. She won our hearts, and deserves much more than a big thank you.

The location is right in the middle of the old town, near the maritime museum and marina, and after my first stay I came back again soon after. The room has the comforts you need once you settle in: a good mattress, pillows and bedding, effective AC and heating, Wi-Fi, a good shower and toiletries, a roomy bathroom, plenty of outlets and bottled water. Sofia is the reason this place feels special. She’s warm and genuinely kind, treats you like family, and is always easy to reach since she lives around the corner. She brought me lots of food, including farm chicken soup for lunch one day. I arrived very early and she got the room ready quickly so I could rest. I really enjoyed both stays and would come back to Chania and stay here again.
