The room was spotless and the bed super comfortable, with thoughtful extras like robes and slippers. Breakfast was beautifully prepared, with authentic Greek dishes. Staff at Elia Kentron were considerate, attentive, and went out of their way to help us. The location is ideal for walking to the town's sights and even the beach. We'd stay again without hesitation.

The room was spotless, and the service was friendly. The staff were polite and gave us spot-on suggestions for things to do and places to visit. The entrance is at the back, rather than from Chania's old town, and there were homeless people sleeping in the square by it. Women walking alone at night should be a bit cautious. The hotel really needs parking, especially since it operates and advertises car rentals.

The location is great, but there was no reception and the WiFi was poor. We had no hot water for three days, and the breakfast at the sister hotel was only acceptable. The place isn't suitable for anyone with mobility issues, there's too little clothes storage, and it gets noisy at night. I wouldn't recommend it.

We liked quite a few things, but some issues brought it down to four stars. The location was convenient for the old part of town and getting elsewhere was easy too. Room 5 had cool stone walls, a great shower, and a decent amount of space, but the lighting wasn't enough for our aging eyes. There weren't any proper windows, just two skylights, one of them covered, and a skylight wouldn't help much at night anyway. Management said there was nowhere secure to leave our bicycles, so we had to carry them up and down a flight of stairs whenever we used them. They had disclosed that no staff are based at this location, which is managed from their hotel around the corner and down a long flight of stairs. That wasn't a problem in itself, but it felt more like an Airbnb, without cooking facilities or seating, and we had little contact with staff compared with a typical hotel. We were also surprised that they charge for coffee pods after the first two.
