Ionas Boutique Hotel

The people at the hotel were all friendly, and we felt very welcome. We also loved the excellent breakfast on the terrace. Our room was beautiful, modern, and very clean. The location is right in the center, but the hotel itself is still quiet. We had a perfect stay at Ionas Hotel, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone spending a few days in Chania.

We’ve decided to come back to Chania every year, and this time we wanted to try a different place with breakfast served outdoors. That’s how we found Jonas hotel. The hosts were amazing, the design was incredible, and the attention to detail really showed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the location was perfect. Even though it’s so central, it was quiet at night. I’d recommend it without hesitation, and we’ll return next year.

This is my second visit to Chaniá, and I chose the same hotel again because Sofianne and her family are such amazing hosts. The location is great and the utilities are super comfortable, but what really makes the place special is its next-level warmth.

The mornings were a highlight. Breakfast was so good that my partner and I kept pushing our plans back, and by the second day the owners had noticed I don't drink coffee and brought me a lovely tea instead. Those small gestures made the stay feel special. We were also comfortable in our clean, cozy room, with its window over a charming street. At night I liked watching little groups gather for late dinners; all we heard was a quiet city murmur. The harbor, shops, and restaurants were an easy walk away, and we felt safe throughout. Leaving Chania for Heraklion, I missed the room, the city, the people who ran the hotel, and their dog. Ionas and Chania will always mean a lot to us. It took me days to find words for how lovely the whole stay was.
