Malmo Historic Hotel

For us, the hotel didn’t feel like good value. We saw nearby places that looked much more appealing for roughly half the price, and the difference was striking compared with another hotel we stayed at earlier on our trip for a similar amount. In our view, it didn’t meet what we’d expect from a 3-star hotel. The room at Malmo Historic Hotel had dull colors and a bland, uninspiring interior, and the coffee wasn’t replenished. Breakfast started at 8:30 am, which was inconvenient, and there wasn’t much choice. This was a disappointing stay for us as travel bloggers.

We had such a lovely stay at Malmo Historic Hotel. The staff were kind and really helpful, and the air-conditioning was a lifesaver. Our room was lovely, and the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous. I’d recommend it for a trip to Chania.

The rooms were spacious, updated, and very clean, and the staff were top-notch. From check-in through to our departure, we got wonderful hospitality. I wish every hotel were this attentive and accommodating. Great job!

The rooms, decor, and breakfast were superb, and the staff were extremely friendly. Walking into the building, we felt we were somewhere we’d love to spend time. It stands in the Venetian Neighborhood and dates from the Venetian period in Crete, with a character that carries a story from five centuries ago. Antonio Malmo converted it into a library in 1928. After later changes to the interior and its use, it was renovated in a way that brings out its unique identity in the wider area. The building and its surroundings reflect a blend of Greek, Italian, and Turkish culture.
