Sunny Suites

We had the best holiday we’ve had in ages at Sunny Suites. The owner and staff were so friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and it’s a real family-run gem. The staff are lovely and the place has a relaxed feel, with a great pool and bar. It’s quiet, but the neighboring town and all its bustle are just down the road if you want that. The beach is a short walk away, and the rooms are cleaned regularly.

We had a key snap in the lock on our first day, almost at one in the morning, and it was fixed within minutes. The hospitality was outstanding. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a balcony looking out to sea, and it was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. We could use the pool, and they also offer car rental at reasonable prices. Can’t praise the place enough.

We stayed at Sunny Suites for two weeks and it suited us perfectly. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the rooms were cleaned daily. They’re on the compact side, but come equipped with cooking facilities and utensils, plus an iron and hairdryer. The hotel’s facilities are limited to the pool bar, which was fine for snacks and drinks. The pool area was kept clean and organized, with enough room for everyone. We found space every day, and didn’t see the annoying sunbed-saving behavior where people leave loungers reserved all day. There aren’t many bars right by the hotel, though we found plenty within a ten-minute walk. Chania old town is about a 20-minute bus ride away. For our family of four, the fare was 7.5 Euro each way, and our youngest, who was four, rode free.
