We’d stay here again. Despina was lovely, quick to communicate before and during the trip, and there was a meal waiting in the oven when we arrived. She made us cakes during the stay and left a few things in the fridge for our first evening and morning. The outside space was really nice, with a warm pool, comfy loungers and towels for them. Inside, the villa was clean, with three good-sized bedrooms, air conditioning and decent wifi. The kitchen was well equipped, though there’s no microwave. Towels and bedding were changed several times, and both bathrooms had plenty of hot water in the evening. It’s a good half-hour walk to the centre, which we already knew. Taxis were reasonably priced, but the fares varied from 9 Euro to 15 Euro for the trip to the centre and back. I recommend downloading the Taxi 18300 App so they can find you without any language issues.

I loved this place and would like to come back one day. The rooms were great, the pool was clean every day, and we got lots of fresh towels, which was really kind and made it easy to have clean ones each day. We were also given dinner, wine, beer, muffins and more for free. I only noticed two small issues. There were no shower doors, but you could close the toilet doors, so it wasn’t a big deal. Warm water was limited, though there were six of us and it was enough. ❤️

The house worked really well for our group and could accommodate 6-8 people in beautiful surroundings. Take a look at the charming front garden and the three terraces. Despina was kind and welcoming, and dealing with her felt like the human approach you’d hope for from someone renting out her lovely home. The listing descriptions were very accurate, and the amenities, appliances and utensils were all available and good quality. Villa Fanouris is in a quiet area of lively, beautiful Chania-Crete. It’s only hundreds of meters from Chania’s east junction with the main road across North Crete. That’s a big plus if you have a car and want to travel around the island, since you can avoid spending tens of minutes getting through Chania’s extremely busy streets each day.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the villa is close to both the national road and the city. It’s one of the most beautiful villas we’ve stayed in. We’ll definitely come back.
