Villa Evenos of 3 bedrooms - Irida Country House of 2 bedrooms with private pools

The villa itself was a highlight, especially the private garden and pool. It had everything we needed, and Maria and Michalis made us feel so welcome. Everything was spotless when we arrived, and Maria made us a delicious omelet each morning. We also got to try some wonderful Greek cheese pastries. That kind of hospitality made the stay even better. Villa Evenos is beautifully set among olive trees, looking out toward the monastery, sea, and mountains. We had a fantastic four days here, with the area's highlights easy to reach. The views are lovely at sunrise and sunset, and this is the Greece we love. We spent the days exploring quieter beaches, including Kedrodasos Beach and White Lake Beach. Elafonissi Beach was calmer toward the end of the day, and after walking to the far end, we were only a five-minute drive from a refreshing swim in our own pool. Chrysoskalitissa Monastery is walkable. Taverna Kochilas is a nice dinner option, with the owner catching the fish himself, and you can watch the sun set over the monastery. Glykeria is farther to walk, but has a breathtaking view of the Libyan Sea.

We stayed four days in the woodeon house, one of the two options they offer. It’s a very quiet, remote spot with amazing mountain views, and Elafonisi is a 15-minute drive away. A good place.

The terrace in front of the apartment was lovely. Breakfast there came with a beautiful view and a sweet dog for company. The apartment itself was cozy, clean, and very Greek, and the owner was nice. We were a little annoyed there weren't any trash cans, so we had to leave our rubbish in bags inside the apartment. Maybe that's just how things are in the region, rather than an issue with this place. We also felt a bit let down when a bald man used the pool, which was meant to be private. We didn't make much of it, though, since we spent lots of time swimming in the sea and weren't that concerned about the pool.

The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, and we’ll definitely come back. It’s a fantastic base for nearby sights, with small supermarkets and restaurants close by. There’s also a bay very near the place where hardly anyone goes.
