Lotus Hotel Apartments

We stayed for a week in apartment 11 at Lotus hotel apartments, and really enjoyed our holiday. The staff were amazing and probably the best part of our stay: so helpful, and they cleaned the apartment very well every day. Breakfast at the hotel had everything we needed. The free water zumba class on Wednesdays was a great extra. The instructor was very good, and I tried it for the first time and enjoyed it. The apartment was on the second floor and had plenty of space. It had two single beds that could be pushed together, a recently renovated interior, a large shower, and a lovely balcony with two chairs, a table, and a drying rack. The air conditioning worked really well. There are three pools: a family pool up to 1.40 m deep, a small 50 cm pool for children, and a lovely 1.45 m pool by reception. I was surprised they never seemed crowded, even in peak season. I do wish there were more of the better sunbeds, and that people wouldn't reserve them with towels at 6 am when they only use them for an hour or two between 11 and 1. There were still other perfectly suitable sunbeds available. There's a bus stop almost across the street and lots of restaurants in the neighborhood.

We loved our six days at this lovely hotel. The apartment was tidied up every day while we were at the beach, and the cleaning service was amazing. The location worked well for us because we wanted to stay in the north, close to Chania. Breakfast was very fresh and had a wide range of choices. The receptionists were so sweet to us, and a special thank you to Virgina and Angeliki.

We had a great suite, with lovely showers, amazing air conditioning, fast WiFi, and a small kitchenette that we used to cook fresh shrimp. The little fridge kept our drinks and Greek yogurt cold, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony reading in the Cretan sun. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the staff do a great job. They're super friendly and ready with help and advice. There are three pools: the main one, a little toddler pool by a play park, and a quieter pool in another area. All were incredibly clean. I saw the maintenance team cleaning them several times in the evenings. The hotel complex is modern and impeccably clean throughout. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices and the food was fresh and okay, but after a week it got a bit boring. Personally, I'd rather see fewer options done really well. The pool bar was always open during our stay. The walls aren't paper thin, though you would hear a very noisy neighbor. We didn't have that problem. The other guests were great, and we enjoyed chatting by the pool. It had a really nice vibe. The hotel is on the main road toward Chania along the coast, with good bus routes. The beach is a ten minute walk away, and there are tons of restaurants nearby. Zygos, right next door, was very good. Lidl is a three to four minute walk away and has everything you need. A superb hotel for the price.

The place was superb, and the people working there were fantastic. The housekeepers took great care around our things. They even cleared away the rest of my half smoked cigar but left the part in the ashtray. I can't think of a single negative. The room had a proper refrigerator, powerful AC, a spacious shower, and a drying rack on the balcony.
