Be careful booking here if you need a flexible reservation. A strike stopped the ferries, so we couldn’t travel to the island because of this special situation, and we lost all our money. They showed no empathy or understanding and ignored us until, after many messages through the app, they replied that their reservation policy was strict.

We’ll definitely book this accommodation again. It’s just a five-minute walk from the Diafani port and the nearby shops, and Olympos village is a 15-20 minute drive away. Anna and Manolis, the owners of Maistrali Studio, were the friendliest hosts, and their daughter Evangelia has a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and the same fantastic view. Breakfast is served from 8am-10am. Our room was tidy, clean, and comfortable for two adults and our five-year-old. It came with a mini fridge, cooking stove, and cooking utensils.

The attached restaurant lets its guests use the sun loungers and parasols on the beach in front of the hotel for free. We weren’t keen on the cleanliness, which was just about acceptable. The cooling fan on the small balcony was baffling too: when the air conditioning was on, it blew hot air out there, so we had to choose between a warm room with the AC off or an unusable balcony with it on. The room itself was on the first floor and had a beautiful view of the sea and Diafani beach promenade from a small balcony. Furnishings were good, the separate shower and toilet seemed fairly new, and the double bed was comfortable. The owner gave us a friendly welcome. A well-intentioned 4 stars, but it could have been 4-5 if it had been cleaner.
