Patriko

We spent two summer nights here as a group of ten, four adults and six children, in two apartments. The apartments looked exactly like the booking photos, and the beds were very comfortable. We also had hot water and strong water pressure, which I haven’t always found in Greece during my three weeks of travel. The street outside Patriko is very narrow, so parking there was a challenge even though the host said we could. We used a free car park just down the road instead. The host suggested Taverna Kaplanis, within walking distance. It was very good, reasonably priced, and friendly.

We stayed in a lovely apartment in a beautiful building, with a kitchen and porch of its own. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The owner was friendly and responsible, though his English was limited. One small inconvenience was having to switch on the hot water heater 20-30 minutes before using it, especially in the morning.

At 100 euro a night, I expected more. The breakfast was just the basics in the fridge. The place is clean and quiet, and near the center, but it isn’t made of stone and wood as the site describes. I won’t visit again.

The lady of the house was kind and didn’t mind our checking out after Noon, though it was off season. The gentleman wasn’t as understanding when we explained we needed a little extra time because we were in Delphi. It was nice private accommodation, and they dealt with the small issues right away.
