Timedrops was a lovely stay, though a mixed one. The villa’s architecture and design were beautiful, with plenty of privacy and a nice, reasonably sized pool. We liked the location in the most beautiful part of Emporeio. It reminded me of Oia, but without the crowded streets and tourist crush. Nikos was welcoming, left us a lovely bottle of wine, and gave us useful food tips. He also left bottled water, since the tap water isn’t drinkable. The main problem was the lack of air conditioning during the hottest time of year. The fan helped a little, but we had to leave it running all night and it was very noisy. For a villa described as a 4-star hotel, that was a real struggle. The coffee, tea, and water supplies were very basic and weren’t replenished daily. At almost £200 a night, decent tea and coffee and air conditioning should be included. Towels were changed every day, which wasn’t always necessary, while the beds were changed only once every three days, not ideal in the heat. Some parts felt luxurious and others quite basic. We had a lovely time and the villa was beautiful, but with those basics missing, it wasn’t good value for money.
