Villa Auriga

The villa manager was really friendly and helpful. He left us beers, olive oil, fruit, and water, then patiently talked us through where to eat and drink and which beaches to see. We had a great stay, and the villa was excellent, with everything shown in the photos: comfy beds, a nice terrace, a deep pool, barbecue, sunbeds and umbrellas, towels, plates, glasses, and all the rest. There are a few things to keep in mind. The Wi-Fi and mobile signal were weak or absent on the lower level, and the Wi-Fi was slow throughout. Wasps showed up during the day, as they do across the island, so bring an EpiPen if you’re allergic. For the villa’s price, we expected toiletries and basics like garbage bags. The nearest beach was a 15-minute drive, and the closest restaurant and market were five minutes by car. You can’t really walk anywhere, so needing transport every day got tiring. One unrelated highlight: we had our best time renting a boat from Nidri, with Lefkasboats and Gyorgis skipper, and visiting the island’s southeast coast.
