Zeus Traditional House

I ended up staying for four months because of work, and I’d happily visit again. It’s a beautiful traditional stone house, renovated and complete with all the comforts. The family business is run with real professionalism, and the owners have clearly paid close attention to the details. Amazing stay!

Emmanuela, the hostess, was incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms, layout, and design all felt thoughtful and lovely, and the atmosphere was beautiful too. Highly recommended. We hope to visit again soon.

The village made a great base, conveniently located at the site of ancient Gortyna and near Phaistos, Lake Zaros, and Matala. We also enjoyed the quality Cretan food in the village. The guesthouse itself is a perfect traditional place, with all the comforts and thoughtful details. We were impressed by the cleanliness, decor, and traditional treats. We’ll definitely return for a longer stay to enjoy the village’s quiet and the guesthouse’s wonderful courtyard.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the little house was clean and nicely renovated. It had a main bedroom, a twin room, a kitchen with an oven, stovetop, and fridge, and a shower room with very little storage. But it wasn’t comfortable for spending much time in. The mattresses were awful, with springs you could feel, and there was no living room, just an oversized kitchen table. Outside there was barely anything, only a tiny table and two chairs, with no loungers or deck chairs. The area was noisy too, with motorcycles and scooters speeding past until late in the evening. Could work for a short visit if you’re planning to be out all the time.
