Platon Hotel

We stayed five nights and were satisfied with the clean room on the second floor, which hasn’t been renovated yet. The renovated first floor is naturally more expensive. We only booked a room, so I can’t comment on breakfast. The location is excellent, right in central Faliraki, with restaurants, bars, cafes, and entertainment within walking distance. The staff were friendly, and I’d like to thank them all. The Wi-Fi, though, doesn’t work very well.

The location is really good, and the staff are kind and helpful. It’s a plus that the safe and air conditioning are free. But the room wasn’t fully clean when we arrived, with rubbish on the bathroom floor. It was given a superficial clean every two days, and the sheets weren’t changed. We could hear noise from the corridor and other rooms, and cooking smells from elsewhere came into our room. I wouldn’t recommend breakfast either, as it was extremely basic.

The clean bed linen and towels were excellent, so I don’t understand why the rest of the room wasn’t properly cleaned. Dust wasn’t wiped away, the floor wasn’t washed, and the bathroom and toilet weren’t cleaned well. The mirrors throughout were also badly done. There’s a safe, TV, and small kitchen area in the room, though you need to buy dish soap and a sponge at the supermarket next door. The hotel has a nice bar, parking right outside, and is close to the city center. Breakfast was okay for the price, but had no vegetables or fruit. Fine for a short stay.

A good choice for a cheap short break. The rooms were clean and tidied every day, and all the staff were lovely. We could leave our keys behind when heading out to the bars, which was a nice touch. I’d recommend it to young travellers or anyone on a budget who still wants somewhere decent.
