Stamos Plus Hotel

We had six people and were given rooms next door to each other, with a double and two single beds in each. That suited me well, since my husband snores and I could sleep in the spare single bed. The rooms were modern and clean, with daily cleaning and fresh bedding every other day. There are lifts for anyone who finds stairs difficult. The hotel is just a few minutes from the town, strip and beach. Someone called the walk to the beach a trek, but that’s not true. Reception staff were kind and helpful, while the bar, restaurant and cleaning staff came across a bit like robots. We didn’t use the pool or see the entertainment, as we were out until dinner and usually went to our rooms early. The food was probably the best all-inclusive we’ve had for the price. There was plenty of choice, with different themes on different nights, so you could always find something you liked. It was warm rather than hot, even when service had just started, but that didn’t spoil things. The all-inclusive drinks were okay, with lots of cocktails to choose from. I got quite drunk on the first night, though I’d had a fair few. Some nights the hallways were loud, with girls banging on doors and shouting. We can’t blame the hotel for inconsiderate guests, and luckily my son slept through it. The place was still quite busy out of season. If you came to dinner more than an hour after it opened, it was hard to get a table inside. The evenings were chilly, so we made a point of getting there when it opened. We were usually in our rooms early, so can’t comment on the entertainment. Please don’t let the bad reviews put you off. For the money, it was a decent hotel and we had a great holiday. The people running Stamos Plus were great and very helpful. Our all-inclusive week was in a lovely setting, and everything was clean and tidy. There was plenty of good food to choose from.

The food was undercooked and unpleasant, with no hot plates for meals or cold plates for fruit and yogurt. The staff were vile, and seeing older men staring at young girls at the bar felt creepy. Karaoke went on every night until midnight, and with no sound insulation you could hear it in your room. It felt like staying in a third world country. If you care about your family, don’t stay here.

We stayed for a week and had a good time overall. The food was the one letdown: it was lukewarm at best and went stone cold quickly.
