Domus Clodia-sensing Rethymno's Old Town

Domes Clodia was such a joy to stay in. We were there for almost a month, and the owners across the way were fantastic: generous, gracious, responsive, and accommodating. Our boys and we loved watching them work and hearing about their shop's history and their lives. Next time we're back, we'll stop by to say hello and stay at Domes Clodia if it's available. The house is in the middle of Old Town, with everything we needed within walking distance. Its architecture and look feel completely at home in Old Town Rethymno. The layout is excellent, with plenty of room for seven; there were five of us and we had space to spread out and relax. We cooked almost every meal in the chef-friendly kitchen, which had every appliance and utensil we could have wanted. The oversized refrigerator was great for groceries and leftovers. The dining and sitting room was roomy and comfortable, as was the second-floor sitting room where we spent lots of time. The wide, sturdy stairs were a real help for our mother, who has had two knee replacements and sometimes has mobility trouble. The bedrooms were large and cozy, the shower rooms and water closets were spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We definitely spent longer than we should have lazing in them. On pleasant evenings we enjoyed the rooftop terrace with Raki and conversation. We couldn't think of anything the home lacked.
