Vanik Suites

For a private-pool room holiday, this is a must-book for the price. My apartment was unbelievable, one of the best rooms I've stayed in, and it exceeded what I expected from a private hotel stay. It's self-catering, though there's no cooking equipment. An English breakfast cafe is only 50m down the road, and the supermarket 100m away has everything you need to stay hydrated. The room was beautiful and big, with a balcony and TV, and the location was great, just 3-4 mins from the strip. There are loads of restaurants and supermarkets around, plus a nearby beach. The cleaning staff were lovely and happy to come back an hour or so later if we weren't ready. Nick the owner was super friendly too. Honestly, one of the best places I've ever stayed. I'd come back a million times!

We stayed in June 2022 for two weeks in a room with a private pool, and it was a pleasure to be at Vanik Suites. It's a fresh, modern, new hotel in a quiet location, a perfect spot for a relaxing holiday. The owner was lovely and helped whenever we needed anything. The only downside was the room cleaning; I hope that's improved since then. Everything else was absolutely amazing, and we're looking forward to coming back. Thank you!! 😊

We had a cosy, quiet stay off peak season. The pool area was nicely decorated, and the coffee machine with pods was a nice touch, but the water was too cold to swim in. I wouldn't stay again, though there's plenty of choice on the island. Vanik, please do better for future guests. The hotel is new, so the rooms and reception look nice, but our room was dusty and the dishes were sticky and dirty, as if they'd only been rinsed. Towels were changed daily, but the cleaner mostly just did that. She didn't hoover or wash the dishes I'd left in the sink. Toiletries were supplied randomly: four small conditioners and three body lotions, but no shampoo or shower gel. We arrived Saturday night, and with most shops shut on Sunday, had no shower supplies for a day. There were only two toilet rolls for six days, so we bought more. There was no one at reception, ever. Before arrival we got a short text with self check-in instructions, which seemed odd for a hotel. We left our passports and expensive camera and drone in the room, despite the safe not working, and came back to find the ground-floor balcony door wide open after we'd been out all day exploring the island. There are two outside cameras, but the main gates stay open 24/7 and anyone can get in. Ground-floor rooms are easy for other guests or anyone outside to access, so leaving the door open felt irresponsible. There's no parking, just a narrow street outside. Since Greek tap water isn't really drinkable, a small bottle on arrival would have been useful. With the shops shut, we had nothing to drink for over 12 hours. I mentioned it was my birthday and asked for even a note, but got no response. It wasn't obligatory, but other hotels have welcomed us on our birthdays with cake, wine, or champagne. The towels also need replacing; they're as hard as sandpaper. Those little things matter.
