Villa Theodora

The rooms were dirty and old. We paid for one night, but left as soon as we saw the room. For those conditions, maybe they should charge 10€ a night instead of 40€. We didn't even get our money back. I wouldn't recommend it.

I still find the whole thing almost funny. After Mr. Grumpy pushed me and my bags out onto the cobblestone path, I was left lying among my scattered belongings while he kept yelling, “Sictir! Sictir!” Earlier, I’d asked to see the room before settling in. It was dusty, and the curtains looked worn, so I told him it wasn’t what I’d expected. He immediately lost his temper and shouted that strange phrase. I was so startled I couldn’t tell if it was a local blessing, a spell, or his idea of hospitality. I’d arrived at Villa Theodora hoping for a great getaway, and instead got a story my friends have heard over and over: the quickest room rejection in vacation history. At least I got a taste of local culture, I guess.

The location was good, though the beds were pretty basic. The double bed was really two singles with a couple of inches between them. Not ideal if you’re hoping to express yourself in bed after a night with Ouzo!

We only stopped by to ask whether they had any availability, and ended up being told off. The staff were very rude.
