Aigli Villa

A very quiet, almost brand new hotel with just four rooms, each with a terrace and partial sea view. It's spotlessly clean, thanks Cristina, and just a few minutes from Thira's main square. We appreciated having a luggage room after the 11am check-out since our flight was late in the evening. It was a shame there was no toilet where we could shower after the beach before flying. The A/C also felt a little undersized, and the room didn't cool as much as we'd have liked.

The host was a wonderful lady and very easy to communicate with. Although Aigli villa is centrally located, it's tucked among houses, so we weren't disturbed by noise or people. We spent five days at this family-run hotel, and our room was cleaned every day. There's a laundry just a minute away, which made washing clothes easy. We arrived late, and checking in was still simple even with nobody at reception. There was a note with our room number, and the room was left open with the key inside. In the morning, we woke to a lovely sunrise view and a palm tree beside the hotel. I thought the location was ideal for sunrises, which I prefer to the western side, since sunsets can be enjoyed from a cocktail bar or promenade. When we return to Santorini, and we will, we'll first check if Aigli villa is available.

We found everything easy from check-in through check-out, and the owner was very friendly and kind. The rooms were clean, with a handy location near the caldera promenade, Fira's bus terminal, and the city center. There are nice restaurants just around the corner. Highly recommended for a short Santorini stay.

The small sign makes this place surprisingly hard to spot. It's behind Hotel Leta, and the lines that look like side streets on Google Maps are really just the walkway to Hotel Leta, Sweet Pops, and Aigli Villa. Look across the street from the hotel path for the big blue and white Laundromat sign. Once found, the location is handy: shops, the bus depot, and the caldera on the west side are all a 5-15 minute walk away. Our room looked east over the island, and the manager was friendly. Very clean too.
