Atlantis Hotel

The price per night was very steep, and I’m sure I could have found a much nicer apartment or suite for less. I booked expecting the kind of four-star experience I’ve had around the world, but this felt closer to two stars. There’s no parking for a rental car, so you have to haul your luggage uphill from a public lot. The rooms feel very outdated, with old tiled bathrooms, and the shower is awkwardly placed in the middle of the tub’s long side. Reception is just a tiny desk, unlike what I’d expect at a four-star hotel. Breakfast wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t meet my expectations for a European-quality breakfast. There’s no elevator to the second-floor rooms either, which could be a problem for an older person with knee issues.

Breakfast was delicious, and the seating area was lovely. Our room was cleaned every day and always felt fresh, and the cleaning and front desk staff were all very friendly, especially Elenor. The Atlantis Hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. We had a caldera-view room, and the view was breathtaking. I have no complaints.

I came by two weeks ago and found it closed, and it’s closed today too. I don’t think the business is open right now. We can only see a couple of cars and hear some noise inside, so someone needs to confirm whether the hotel is open.

The hotel has a more traditional feel than many of the nearby cave-style places. The rooms are a little dated, but still nice, and the balcony rooms overlooking the caldera are especially good. There’s a nice pool area, and service was great. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the lobby bar, which serves coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails. Great location and views.
