The people were good, and the food was good too, but this old one-star hotel has some real problems. The shower water was consistently lukewarm at best, and in May the rooms felt cold and damp. Toilet paper was rationed as if each roll were a 10 euro bill. Towels and linens were supposed to be changed every 3 days, and sometimes it took even longer. The place needs regular maintenance. It’s cheap at 25 euros a night, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

It’s a family-run hotel with very basic facilities. One family member speaks English. Everyone was nice and helpful, though the outdoor pool wasn’t ready in May.

A nice old man and a cheap nightly price were the positives. The place was dirty outside, and only one light and one charger worked in the room. It’s also far from Heraklion. There were odd rules, and hardly anyone spoke English or smiled. The receptionist was the exception, she spoke English and smiled. We ordered a pizza for 8e, which felt expensive, and it came straight from the freezer. So a 2e frozen pizza was being sold for 8e. I also asked for a special ice cream from the bar wall menu, but they didn’t have it. Neither did they have milkshakes when I asked for one.

They make you feel like part of a Cretan family here, that’s real hospitality. The rooms are clean, the pool is warm, and it’s the best value for money!
