Aneria Apartments

Breakfast and coffee are available, and there is plenty of parking. We stayed in apartment number 1, a very clean, spacious place with two bedrooms and three nice balconies to sit on. Katerina and Adonis keep everything spotless, and the large pool looks out over the sea. It's near the water, too. The road up is a bit narrow and steep, but wasn't a real problem.

You'll need a car to explore, though there's cheap scooter rental nearby. The hosts were lovely, and for a good price we had a nice ground-floor apartment. The pool was beautiful, and the hillside setting gave us an amazing view over a sandy beach that seemed to stretch forever. Recommended.

The owners are so friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. It's calm and very clean, with sea views from every room. Even in August we never needed the air conditioning, since the place sits on a little hill. We'd love to come back.

Mrs Vivi deserves five stars. She's the smiling, hardworking soul of this place. Antonis is a very hospitable Cretan host, and his raki is good too. The breakfast is full of authentic Cretan flavours. The suites are spacious and clean, most with an open view of Episkopi beach, and the garden, palm trees and pool are beyond anything I imagined. Set up on a hill overlooking that beautiful beach, it's a heavenly complex, with a wonderful sunrise, sunset, or both. I'd stay here permanently if I could. See you next summer!
