Matzi Apartments

It’s a really quiet place for relaxing, with the sea and cicadas as the soundtrack. We spent a week here, swimming either in the hotel pool or in the sea, which is very close. Around the pool there’s a pleasant garden with grass and flowers. Our apartment was clean and nice, and the staff were very helpful. We were given a better apartment than the one we’d booked. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing holiday. We don’t usually return to the same hotel, but if we ever make an exception, we’ll come back here.

The owner is around and helpful, and the property is kept in lovely condition with daily cleaning. It’s right on the beach, with a pool and garden on site and fairly ample parking. Four very good tavernas are a short walk away. The bus station is also nearby, with a ride to downtown Chania taking 30 minutes and costing 2.20 euros.

We stayed in early October 2022 and got a warm welcome, along with a great choice of very spacious apartments. It was windy with rough seas, so we made use of the large pool nearly every day. The location was quiet and private. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it.

The beach is right outside, great for swimming, and there’s a lovely pool that never felt too busy. Our room was huge, with three balconies and comfy beds. The hotel sits in a quiet spot but shops and restaurants are still close by, and the woman at reception was so friendly and helpful. Amazing views too. Easily my favorite place I’ve stayed in Crete!
