The garden is lovely, the place is very clean, and the location works well. It’s also cheap. But sleeping and showering here were hard. The mattress feels like metal springs under a thin cover, and the old air conditioner is loud. The host switched it off during the day, so the room got very hot under the uninsulated roof. I asked the cleaning lady, who said they’d leave it at 28C, but it was still turned off. The shower temperature and pressure changed suddenly, from hot to cold and back within seconds. When a neighbor showered, ours could stay cold for five minutes. The short curtain let water splash everywhere. The bathroom’s old single-pane window and door also let in the sound of neighbors talking on the terrace at night. If that’s your terrace, you may smell the neighbor’s toilet. There were other annoyances: the old wardrobe had a strong stale smell, no shelves, and only hangers. The fridge was very noisy at 45dB, though that’s apparently usual at this price. The chair legs had no fabric pads, so dragging a chair next door was loud at night. The curtain didn’t cover the window properly, and morning light came into the room early. The room was cleaned daily, but a dirty towel left on the floor was folded and put back on top of the clean towels. Shampoo wasn’t replaced. When I complained and wanted to leave, they said I could go but would still be charged the full amount. What service. The pool was good, parking was available on the property, and the grounds are beautifully kept. The rooms block neighbors’ voices well, apart from squeaks and other noises between them.

Good morning. At your request, I’ve canceled my reservation, Anton Nae. You raised the price after two weeks. Please let me know when your room rates are actually lower than the price on Booking, and I’ll try to feel that too. You’re completely incompetent and a disgrace to the tourism business.

Tonia was a really good host, and the pool was lovely. It’s close to the beach, too. A peaceful, quiet place, kept very clean and with everything nicely arranged.
