Aktaion Resort

I’ve been here twice for a full week company event, and both visits were great. The rooms were really nice, and the pool, bar and restaurant area are lovely. Staff are helpful and friendly, though bar orders can take a while. The restaurant food is good, but the menu doesn’t vary much from day to day. It’s a beautiful spot, perfectly placed close to Gytheio and right beside a decent beach.

You can get to the beach quickly, and there’s a pool and a good restaurant, so it’s easy to stay put and fully relax. The rooms are okay. The property is a little way from town, though, so you’ll need a car or be ready for about a 3 km walk.

The breakfast was very good, and the pool was a favourite. We enjoyed the lovely rooms and balcony at this beautiful place. The waterfront beach is a bit rocky, but still beautiful, and the nearby town has nice shops and restaurants. I only wish we could serve ourselves at breakfast instead of being served from behind a clear screen.

What upset me was how the hotel handled something that happened after our stay. The room service staff took my daughter’s towel along with the hotel towels, by mistake, I suppose, even though ours looked nothing like theirs. Reception said they would courier it to me. I had to contact them repeatedly, and they never called me, even after I explained that the towel meant a lot to my daughter. In the end they said it was lost and blamed the cleaning company they use. That showed me little respect as a customer and overshadowed the whole stay. I gave two stars because most of the staff were polite.
