Central Luxury Apartment

The terrace door didn't lock. We contacted the host, who confirmed it didn't lock and told us not to leave valuables in the apartment. We were staying for seven days and asked if they could fix it. The answer was no. They said nobody had been robbed yet, so nothing would happen. We had about 5-10k worth of electronic equipment in the apartment, and six months ago we were robbed in a similar first-floor apartment for a few thousand dollars. We asked for a refund for the remaining days because the apartment felt unsafe for us and our belongings, but they said no. Security matters when you're paying for a place. This doesn't deserve more than 1/10. We were already really unhappy, and then couldn't get the hot water working by following the booklet instructions. The host never answered our messages about it. Booking didn't help even though we asked for an extremely cheap solution. They said the host wouldn't do anything, not even fix the lock. We contacted them many times and they couldn't help. We won't use Booking anymore.

The location is a little discreet, but it's very close to the centre and all amenities. The place had most, if not everything, you need. It was spacious enough for a family of four with kids. We only stayed one night, but it's worth spending longer here.

Nice place, and the price was good.

The reservation and key pickup were well organised. The place was convenient and inexpensive for somewhere close to Heraklion Airport, but the hygiene was questionable. There was a urine stain in the toilet bowl, and at 2:30 a.m. a large cockroach, about 5 cm long, appeared in the kitchen.
