Anna and Kris were chatty, friendly and so helpful. They even let us stay late because we had an evening flight. I loved the place so much I want to live there with them forever! The windmill has a lot of character, and its quirks were a big part of the charm for us. Getting to some rooms can be tricky, especially for older people or anyone less mobile, so it may not suit everyone. We’d planned to use the top room with the cogs, but the bed in the main part of the floor had a stunning view. We stayed there instead. It wouldn’t be the best choice if you need privacy from the people you’re staying with, but that wasn’t an issue for our close-knit group. Waking up in bed to the sunrise was magical. Quite a few strangers came through on their way to the beach, mistaking the windmill for a bar. Some actually walked inside, which could be a security problem for personal belongings. A private property sign at the entrance would resolve it. A welcome book would also be useful, including a reminder not to flush toilet paper and clearer rules about the “private” beach and sunbeds. We weren’t sure what the rules were, though we only had a few niggles using them. Maestro’s bar delivers to the windmill, and its food and drinks are great. The man who works there is amazing. WiFi was a little spotty, but we don’t use it much because we like to experience the holiday.
