Amber Light Villas Santorini

The location isn't the best since it's a little far from everything, but a taxi into town is cheap, so it wasn't too bad. The views were stunning and the sunrise was beyond amazing. My room was incredible, much more than I'd expected, and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very good too. We spent four nights and I wish we'd chosen Amber Lights for our whole trip. I loved my stay and we'll be back.

The Villa suite was lovely, with an indoor hot tub that could have been a little warmer but was still good. The hotel was impeccably clean, like the rest of the island, and the team were all wonderful. Dimitrious at the bar and the two women at reception were especially lovely, friendly, and happy to answer questions. If you know there's nothing within walking distance, you won't be disappointed. You can walk uphill to the main road and join the Oia to Imerogivli path if you don't mind the climb. We relied on taxis arranged by the hotel, and one lovely driver went above and beyond showing us around the island, though I can't remember his name. My only change would be opening the bar before 2 p.m., even just for coffee. We had the best time. Thanks, everyone.

The rooms are very good, but the pools and jacuzzi were cold, and staff were friendly or not depending on who helped us. Our wifi didn't work, either. The hillside location is okay and gives an ocean view, but it's not near Oia, where there are far more options and memorable views of blue domes, dining, and shops of every kind. We left early to go somewhere better and were glad we did, so we could have the vacation we wanted after traveling so far. Disappointment awaits, so make sure you get a good rate.

The hotel is peaceful, so shops aren’t right outside, but you can have things delivered, and quads, buggies, or scooters can be brought to the hotel too. The staff had great suggestions and were always ready to help with anything. The rooms are roomy and clean, and breakfast has eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, ham, cheese, cereal, yogurt, tea, coffee, and apple and orange juice. One thing to know: the jacuzzi isn’t heated, so I wouldn’t use it on a cold evening unless you’re fine with chilly water. I’d definitely come back :)
