I was left to find and pay more for another hotel after the hotel told me it couldn’t honor my confirmed, paid Booking.com reservation for September 19-21. I’d called to ask how to arrive, and was told the room had been double-booked. They didn’t offer a comparable replacement. The phone representative was also rude and dismissive, with little help or empathy.

The host was careful and honest: after my husband accidentally overpaid by 30 euros, the host or manager drove back to return the money. Communication was prompt and clear, too. The accommodation was just as pictured and clean. It’s in a convenient, quieter spot near restaurants, the lake, a playground, a grocery store within walking distance, and the walled part of town. Thanks for having us.

The host was rude and disrespectful. He cursed us out of the property when we tried to negotiate.

We went recently as a couple and plan to return. Opal lake suites has a lake view, with shops nearby for food and drinks, and I think it’ll feel cozy when we come back in winter. I can see it becoming one of the most popular places in Ioannina. Well done on everything!

We could leave the car behind and walk to the lake, castle, shops, restaurants, and cafes from this convenient spot. The suite was clean, modern, attractive, and practical. Three of us stayed in the junior suite, which can comfortably fit four. My teenage son had a proper double bed instead of the sofa beds so many places treat as normal. The owners were helpful and discreet. I visit Ioannina often and love it, so see you next time!
