Hotel Dollas

We had a good enough setup in the room, with a fridge, a one-ring cooker, toaster and kettle, though there weren't many utensils. It suited us. Rooms were basic, clean and serviced every other day. You could get food at the poolside bar from around 8 in the morning until 8 at night, at prices similar to other places. There's a bakery and shop nearby, and although town is a walk away, buses run through the day. A taxi to the main town area was only €8. The bar also has a pool table. Everyone on staff was lovely. We stayed in October and have already booked to come back in May.

There was plenty of room in the large, clean apartment, and the balcony had a pleasant view with a table and two chairs. The bathroom was small but worked fine. The kitchen area was good too, with a two-ring cooker, toaster and microwave. Just wish there'd been a kettle.

The place was clean and tidy, and the staff were fantastic. The rooms are simple, but you're not in there much. It's around a 20-minute walk to the main strip and not a bad one. We stayed for two weeks, and this was my second visit. I'd come back again.

We booked two weeks at Dollas hotel for me, my girlfriend and my nine-year-old autistic son. Our flight was delayed, and when we arrived the man at reception nearly shouted that we were late. At the first room, bird droppings were all over the ground by the entrance, the switches fizzed when pressed, the air conditioning we paid €140 for blew warm air, and the balcony door wouldn't close or lock properly. After a day, we complained that the room was still too hot without working air conditioning. Staff tried to tell us it was fine, then moved us to another room. That one also had warm air from the unit, a broken fridge, broken lights and shades, a damaged toilet seat, a leaking sink, salty water like seawater from the shower and sink, and no hot water. The beds were rock hard. The sofa bed was narrower than a single, with a raised metal bar down the middle and only a worn, thin topper over it. We raised all this with the staff, who became defensive and arrogant. After the cleaner had been in, my partner's silver ring went missing. The air conditioner filter was so clogged that I'm surprised it could draw air in. When we asked about the ring, staff became confrontational and aggressive towards my partner, and just said, "we are family here." The room then went uncleaned for four days, so we were left with the same sheets and towels. Staff started ignoring us when we came and went. We reported everything to Jet2. A lovely representative came to investigate and said the room wasn't suitable for anyone to stay in. The hotel staff told her and us that things had been fixed or were being fixed, but all they did was replace a bulb and the toilet seat, which didn't fit properly the first time. I'm posting this so people know what the rooms are like and how we were treated.
