Hotel Haikos

It’s easy to walk to restaurants and other places to eat from here. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help, whether that’s calling a taxi, suggesting places or helping with your suitcases. For a two star hotel, this place is amazing. Please come here if you need somewhere to stay.

For a two star hotel, this is clearly above its rating. The staff are great and make you feel welcome right away, with all the information you need. Rooms are clean, there’s a small lift to the upper floors, and reception is staffed around the clock. There are also a certain number of parking spaces at the hotel, which is very useful if you have a car. We can definitely recommend it if you want an inexpensive stay fairly close to the seafront and central areas.

The staff know the town and surrounding areas very well, and were really helpful. The hotel has recently been renovated and sits right on Kalamata’s waterfront. The rooms are a little small but clean and well equipped, and the nightly rate is a steal. Breakfast is standard Greek fare. With cafes and bakeries easy to reach, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Our stay was really pleasant, with very helpful staff, and we had a nice third-floor room overlooking the Messinian Gulf. A couple of things could be better: the window lock didn’t work and the shower space was narrow. Even so, the experience felt above what you’d expect from a two star hotel, and I’d recommend it.
