We had a week at Villa Alexander in Kalathas with two families, one with two adults and a child, the other with two adults and three children. It worked out beautifully for us. The villa gave everyone space to spread out while still making it easy to share meals and spend time together. One family used a large, comfortable bedroom, and the other had the bigger family-style room with enough beds and space. Both rooms had good storage, air conditioning, and lots of natural light. The kids were in the private pool every day, from morning until evening. There were loungers, shade when we needed it, and an outdoor dining area where we had long dinners and barbecues. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the living room was cozy for games and chats at night. The villa itself is spacious and well designed. Kalathas beach is a short drive away, or a longer walk. The area is quiet, safe, and very family-friendly, with Chania town close enough for day trips, shopping, and meals out. Our host and Ioannis were warm and helpful, with plenty of local tips. We were even welcomed with homemade treats and fresh fruit. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and are thinking of coming back next July.

The hosts were so kind and friendly, and the pool was beautiful, with an amazing view. Everything was super clean. But the mattress was so hard that my back hurt every morning, and the walls are thin enough that you can hear everything next door or upstairs. If you want to sleep in a bit in the morning, it's not the best place.

We had a wonderful week here. The apartment was nice and came with service, and the staff were very helpful. There was a lovely pool and no problems with anything. The room had a kitchen with the equipment we needed, a fridge, and cozy bedrooms. Honestly, five stars.

Sandy was so kind and accommodating, and made our week feel special. The place was extremely clean, with daily cleaning, and the pool and garden were well kept. I'd highly recommend staying here and would certainly come back.

The staff were very nice, the pool was lovely, and the rooms were cleaned every day unless we asked otherwise. There aren't any restaurants very close by, so having a car is a good idea. It's near Chania airport, which can be useful if you don't want to drive far after landing or before your flight home. But it's also close to the NATO base, and those planes are much louder than commercial ones. They tend to pass in groups of three or four, so each time it's loud for a while. It felt more like a family hotel, with several families and children around. That's not always restful, though it depends on what you're looking for.
