Afroditi Venus Beach Resort

Our deluxe double had a sea view and plunge pool, and it was stunning. The pool felt private, unlike those at some beachfront hotels where loungers sit right beside the road and public walkway. We were also right by the beach, shops and restaurants, with a bus stop a short way down the road and the lovely Erotokritos Cretan Bakery on the corner. The staff were all kind and helpful, and we adored our stay. My only little gripes were that the bathroom felt small and dark, and although breakfast had plenty of choice, the hot food wasn’t quite hot enough for me.

We’ll definitely come back. The beach just behind the hotel was beautiful, and the gyros were the best we tried. Everyone we met, from reception to the restaurant and beach team, was lovely. The staff serving drinks on the beach were amazing, and the hotel was spotless. Such a beautiful, sun-soaked stay. ❤️

The peaceful atmosphere made this feel like a real retreat, and the food was delicious, with local flavors. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a balcony and a beautiful view, and it had all the amenities we could want. The staff made us feel welcome and valued at every turn. We chose Kamari for its more affordable prices and relaxed feel while visiting Santorini to get married in Firostefani. Our deluxe double had a jacuzzi, a sea view, and even a private entrance from the beach. The view was incredible, and we spent a lot of time on the patio lounge beds listening to the waves. It was beautiful and peaceful. The staff were pleasant, and the cleaning ladies were respectful of our things and thorough. The view alone goes a long way toward making up for the hiccups, and we’d consider coming back. We were disappointed that nobody acknowledged our wedding plans when we arrived, even though I’d mentioned them in the direct booking. On the wedding day I called reception to arrange a transfer to the venue, and they guessed we were going to a wedding but seemed surprised it was ours. I’m guessing reception couldn’t see the booking details, so I’m trying not to hold that against them. When we returned, they’d left a bottle of Merlot, glasses and a card, which was sweet, though oddly they used our middle names instead of our first names. The jacuzzi temperature was capped at 35°C. That might be fine in the hot summer, but we visited in an unusually cold shoulder season and only used it once. We started calling it a “warm tub.” The bathroom also lacked a good place for clothes or a phone while showering unless you wanted to put them on top of the toilet, which felt gross. The shower glass was too short and water splashed all over the bathroom.
