Epavlis Hotel & Spa

The breakfast was the best we had during our time in Santorini, and I really appreciated the view from our room. We were stressed after our luggage went missing, but the staff took such good care of us. The cleaning ladies did a great job, and the receptionist gave us lots of useful tips for getting around and places to visit. We had a car and ended up eating at restaurants full of local people, away from the tourist route. I don’t normally review places I’ve enjoyed, but I wanted to thank everyone for a beautiful stay.

The quiet nights meant I got some of my best sleep, and the location was handy for walking to Samaritan beach, restaurants and shops. I loved relaxing by the pool, with lots of chairs and umbrellas for sunbathing. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the service was excellent. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, arranging a rental car, a taxi pickup and massages. And the breakfast buffet was OMG!

The pictures are misleading. The room was tiny and dirty, and staying there felt like being in prison. We lasted an hour before leaving. The balcony and view were a joke too. Save yourself the disappointment we had and stay somewhere else. I also wouldn’t trust the fake reviews it seems to post.

I’d call this a three-star hotel rather than a four-star one. The pool is nice, and Alex at the pool bar is a really friendly guy. Breakfast has a good range and is generally nice, though the coffee is poor. There’s a large car park, and the male receptionist was friendly and helpful. The hotel did book a rental car and our departure transfer, but they forgot the airport pickup we’d asked for. Since nobody answered the phone, we had to get an Uber. The woman at reception wasn’t friendly, and the hotel generally seemed short-staffed. There was no one at reception at night. Getting to the hotel is a bit difficult since it’s up a hill, even by car. If you book a sea-view room, specifically ask not to be near the pool, since people sitting there can see into the room. After we complained, they moved us the next day. One of the rooms had ants on the floor and in the bed.
