Villa Anneta

For the reasonable price, I don't think you'll find anywhere better. The views are beautiful, and the owners are great and honest. They pointed us to rentals and places to eat that weren't touristy or overpriced. The rooms have everything you need, especially if you're coming to Santorini to explore rather than spend all your time in the hotel. This will forever be my go-to place when I come back.

The hilltop setting gave us lovely sea views from our room and balcony, and the beach was still close by. It’s a bit of a walk up, but the quiet made it worthwhile for us. We also really appreciated how welcoming the owner was, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was a nice start to the day, with toast, ham and cheese, fruit with Greek yogurt and honey, watermelon, mini croissants, juice, tea and coffee. We arrived in the evening and felt at home straight away. We had a fantastic stay at Villa Anneta and would love to return.

Dad and I stayed here September 18-21 and had a great time. The hotel is close to the action, with the beach town about five minutes away, and there’s a mountain right in front if you fancy a hike. The climb is a little steep, but worth it. Lefteris and the staff are attentive and caring, and breakfast comes with a smile and tastes good. I love this little piece of heaven.

The setting is lovely, with great views and a charming traditional feel. The pizza oven and plant pots add a nice touch. What spoiled it for me was the owner, who seemed miserable. I tried saying hello a few times and got ignored, which made us feel unwelcome. The beds were uncomfortable, the air conditioning in our room didn’t work properly, and we were given two single beds instead of the double we’d booked. We were also told there’d be an iron, hair dryer and kettle in the room, but there weren’t. I could have overlooked the room issues and still enjoyed the holiday, but the owner was the main negative on our Santorini trip.
