At check-in they asked for a debit card or €100 in cash as a deposit against possible vandalism. We’d already booked and paid, but nearly couldn’t check in because my friends had prepaid cards and no cash. There were four of us, and the situation was embarrassing and ridiculous for us and the woman at reception. She explained that it was hotel policy and they had to follow the rules, even though the policy made no sense to us. I usually pay for a service, not for a possible damage that hasn’t happened. They should have insurance for this sort of thing.

We loved staying here. The room was a good size and cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding. The staff were lovely, and the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants was only a few minutes away. The pool was great and there were always enough sunbeds. We’re already looking at booking again for next year.

The staff were excellent, and the hotel itself was great. Rooms were clean, roomy, and tidied daily. My only complaints were the poor Wi-Fi, fairly hard beds, and very slippery showers.

The hotel is clean and well maintained, and the rooms, though dated, were comfortable enough for a stay. Beds were comfortable, towels and sheets were changed regularly, and breakfast was good. It may not be listed as five-star, but the people are what make the place. Georgina and her son, Tina, Andreas, and Anna all helped make our holiday a joy. We’d gladly come back.

We had a great family holiday here in May with my fiancé. We stayed in the hotel’s nearby apartments, which were clean and spacious, and the cleaners came twice daily. We got to know the staff, and they were all lovely. Denise behind the bar deserves a special mention for making an excellent Mojito. The hotel food was lovely, and Alma, their restaurant by the beach, was also very nice with friendly staff. Breakfast was complimentary and continental. I’d highly recommend the Cleopatra Classic Hotel.
