Elga Hotel

We booked at the last minute and were quickly sorted into a decent room at a nice price. The woman running the place was wonderful, and both the price and location were great. Don't expect too much, and sleep with the windows open. For a two-star hotel, it was amazing.

We had a two-bedroom room with twin beds in each. The kitchen was roomy enough for the two of us and had plenty of cutlery, a kettle, toaster, small hob and pots, though not enough to make a fried breakfast. Air conditioning was only in the main room and cost €10 a day. Internet was patchy except by the pool. The pool was great, the food delicious, and the staff very friendly. Petros and Stella quickly sorted out any issues. The hotel is close to bars and restaurants. Rooms are basic, especially the shower, which needs more space and a shelf for toiletries. We'd definitely stay again.

There was plenty of room around the pool even though the hotel was full in August, and it never felt crowded. Our studio for two was spacious and cleaned daily. We didn't pay extra for air conditioning because it was included in the rate we booked directly with the property. The hotel is clean and well maintained, with very friendly, helpful staff. It has some age to it, but that gives it a distinctive late-90s feel. The wardrobe was a little worn. The location gives you quieter space away from the bars and restaurants, while the lively centre is still very close. Nearby you've got bars, restaurants, a supermarket, cafe, and car and scooter rentals, basically what you need for a holiday. I'd come back and recommend it to couples, solo travellers and families.
