Sideratos Apartments

Cindy made sure we had everything for our three-month-old, from a bassinet to baby towels. She even gave us local honey as a parting gift when we checked out. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a lovely view, and the beach was close by.

This was my pick, and probably the nicest place on the island, even after we travelled all over. It’s right by the sea, though you have to wade out a bit before the water gets deep enough to swim. The place is tastefully equipped and decorated. Karfas village isn’t very intriguing, so you’ll need a car.

Yanis and Cindy were so kind and welcoming. They shared lots of local tips and helped us find places we wouldn’t have discovered on our own, which made the stay even more special. The room had everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen with utensils, a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and kettle. The bathroom was spotless, and there was always hot water. The setting is peaceful, with birds and waves to listen to in the morning and evening. From the road-facing main entrance, the back opens onto a garden and a beautiful sea view. Walk down a small staircase and you’re on the beach in about a minute. It’s a great spot for a quiet, relaxing getaway. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it.

Cindy was always available and arranged taxis and laundry whenever we needed them. There’s plenty of room, which worked well for us as two couples travelling together. We enjoyed afternoon drinks on our balconies and in the outdoor lounge, where you can get out of the sun or have a nap. All the units face the beach, with balconies and direct beach access, and have useful equipment such as a coffee pod machine, microwave, stovetop, and toaster. Restaurants are an easy walk away, with several excellent choices, and there are enough mini-marts nearby for supplies, so there’s no real need to go into the main town. We were warmly welcomed by Yiannis with a tasting of Mastic liqueur. It’s the best place to stay in Karfas, and I highly recommend it.
