Anema By The Sea Guesthouse

Mercini at the front desk made us feel completely at home. She was so helpful, honestly the best receptionist ever. The hotel is a quiet little find, very clean and no-frills, though the rooms felt a bit tired and disappointed us at first. It’s an easy walk to the harbour, and about 10 minutes to the town centre. We had a memorable stay on Samos, thank you!

I keep coming back every year and already can’t wait for the next visit. It feels cozy and homely, and the staff are always friendly and ready to help. The tawerna serves tasty, generous meals with an unforgettable view of the sea. It’s also a great base for walks and hikes, with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. A really nice, simple hotel.

We stayed for more than a month, and my kids still talk about the holiday. The hotel is an easy walk from the port, with restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops nearby. Everyone working there was kind and happy to help with our requests. As a mum of three young children, I was especially impressed by how polite and friendly they were with all the kids. Anema, thanks for everything. We’ll definitely be back, see you in less than a year!

It’s a quiet spot in the Karlovasi part of the island, with its own center, though there isn’t much there and the popular places are a bit far away. The hotel is very cost effective, the rooms are spacious enough, and breakfast was good compared with other hotels on the island. My one complaint is the cleanliness: after we’d checked in, I found a tissue under the couch, so the rooms didn’t feel clean enough.
