We booked for June 2025, and this was by far our worst experience with Airbnb, despite having used it many times. The apartment had a serious ant problem that made it unpleasant to stay in. When we raised it, the host was dismissive and rude, asked us to leave instead of dealing with it, and later falsely said we had canceled. We were forced out after she refused to address a clear pest and cleanliness issue, and that account misrepresents what happened. Airbnb found us another place, which was much better than Blackrock but cost twice as much. The disruption affected our trip, and I hope Airbnb takes situations like this seriously to protect future guests. I wouldn’t recommend staying here or refer anyone I know. Hosts should take customer feedback as suggestions for improving their place and business. Please represent the property as it is, because misleading people when they’re traveling in another part of the world is the last thing they need.

We were glad we managed to leave, because the host made the stay feel hostile and uncomfortable. She kept returning to our room to ask when we would go, after yelling at us and saying our behavior was inappropriate. We had to spend hours on the phone with Airbnb arranging another place in Santorini. When we arrived, tired from our flights and at the stated check-in time, the key wasn’t in the lockbox, so we called and waited for the host to let us in. Then we found ants and other bugs all over the kitchen. After we reported them, she told us to find somewhere else and cancel the booking. I’ve never had an experience like this, though other reviews describing similar treatment make me think this is a pattern of rude, defensive, unprofessional behavior. I don’t understand how someone who treats guests this way can host on Airbnb.

We had booked five nights but left after just one. The unit had bugs, dust, and no air ventilation, and cats kept trying to get inside even though one of us is allergic to cats. There was no way to let the property know we were coming from the airport, and the host wasn’t there when we arrived. When we raised our concerns, she got defensive and rude, swore at us, and said she didn’t care whether we stayed. She also refused to refund us, though luckily VRBO did. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

We left after the first night and paid for another hotel. The place was filthy, with bugs in every room, cobwebs in the shower, and dirt and dead bugs in the hot tub, so we couldn’t use it. Our host wasn’t there at the agreed arrival time, and we waited an extra 30 minutes for our taxi driver to help us get in. When we told her what was wrong with the place, she swore at me and my friends, yelled, and walked away in the middle of the conversation without trying to resolve anything. We eventually found somewhere much better. We felt catfished, and I’d advise others not to make the same mistake we did. Go to America Suites instead!
