Villa Livadaros

I stayed for 3 nights at the end of October, and I can’t recommend this place. The hotel is old and needs updating, and you can hear everything from the other rooms. On my last night, other guests were noisy all night and I hardly slept. The 24-hour reception mentioned on the booking platform wasn’t actually available. The receptionist was only there from 9 to 3 pm. If you have a car, the location is good, but it’s a 30-minute walk to Fira bus station, where all the buses leave from. I wouldn’t choose it if you plan to get around by bus, and would stay in Fira instead. I was charged a tourist tax of 2 euro per night per person on arrival, even though my booking said all taxes were included. I also bought a bottlen of water at reception and was charged 2 euro, then noticed the room pricelist said 1 euro. Seven weeks before arrival, I wanted to book flights to and from Athens, but fares were very expensive on my dates because of a national holiday. I asked the hotel to let me arrive 3 days later or cancel for free. They immediately refused, even after I explained the reason, although the same roomtype was available 3 days later. I was forced to book the expensive flights. I don’t understand that rigid mentality. If you book anyway, make sure you can cancel for free or change your dates, because the hotel is not flexible at all. I don’t understand the hotel’s good rating. There was nothing good about it.
