Karteros Villa

The villa is spacious, with a lovely garden and poolside loungers, but there were a few issues that kept it from being a more enjoyable place. The pool was very cold, and the broken sun umbrella we reported on the first day was never replaced during the week. Two of the three showers had broken glass doors, so water soaked the floor. The big-screen TV was nice for movie night, although its internet connection was poor. It’s noisy because the villa is beside a busy road and near the airport. Opening the front gate puts you straight onto the road, with little space to walk. The WiFi and internet were terrible, making remote work and video calls a disaster, except perhaps in two of the lower rooms. Service and help were quick. Be sure to follow the clear instructions not to put toilet paper in the toilet, which is common practice in Crete. There’s very little to do in the nearby neighborhood. With a bit more effort, this place could be much nicer.
