The owner was friendly and helpful, and the maids did an excellent job. The apartment had a nice pool and there were usually sunbeds available in September 2025. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach; when we went, we headed down to the right, where there were plenty of loungers to hire or use with a food purchase. The room was a little basic for self-catering, though the shower was good. Hooks for shampoo or a soap basket would have helped.

We were sad to head home after two lovely weeks at Alykes Garden Village, and we’ll definitely return. Jimmy met us at the gates when the airport transfer dropped us off, and that warm welcome set the tone. He, his family, and the staff work incredibly long hours and are always smiling and happy to help. The hotel is well placed for exploring. The sandy beach is about 15 minutes away on foot, the walk to the village is pleasant and not hilly, and the views from the hotel are lovely. I went on some great walks nearby and saw the area from different perspectives. The village has a nice range of restaurants. We tried different things each day and didn’t have a disappointing meal. After dinner, walking back was relaxing, though the horse and cart service is another option and well worth experiencing. Our room was spacious and immaculate, with everything needed for self-catering. The cleaning team came daily, the air conditioning worked very well, and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well. The spotless pool is kept clean and monitored throughout the day, and it has the best sun loungers. The little shop stocked what we needed when we didn’t want to carry bags back from a bigger shop in town. The clean bar area has plenty of cool, shaded seating and serves delicious food and drinks. There’s also a large TV streaming sports, which was popular with people following football. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It’s a hard-working, family-run business, and we’re grateful to Jimmy, his family, and everyone there for a holiday to remember.

The rooms and downstairs areas were very clean, and the chambermaids did a great job. We often came back to neatly arranged towels on the bed and fresh flowers. I couldn’t fault the cleanliness or the friendliness of the staff I met. The owner/manager lives there and was almost always available. The pool area was cordoned off at 7pm each night, and staff cleaned all the sunbeds thoroughly every day. There were usually sunbeds available at the resort if we didn’t fancy the walk to the beach, which is a bit of a trek but manageable as a leisurely stroll. Everything is cash only in practice. They have card machines, but rarely use them because there always seems to be a “connection problem.” The additional late checkout charges were the biggest letdown. We needed to extend from 10am until 2.30am the next morning because of our flight. It cost us 150 euros. The charges are 60 - 80 euros for about six hours, and I only found out the price a couple of days before leaving. If I’d known a week or two earlier, I’d have looked for another room or apartment nearby, but everything was booked by then. The bar menu is limited, and the evening food service has a very short window, with hardly anything that counts as an evening meal. It can feel as if they don’t want guests using the facilities for food. I’ve included a photo of the bar menu so you can see the drink prices and food options. It’s otherwise a very nice, well-maintained place.

The pool was very welcome after days spent exploring, and the location made it easy to reach the centre and beach with a gentle 15-minute walk. Drinks are a little dear, but I thought that was a small price to pay. I’d definitely recommend it.
